It is normal for it to bind up when installing the top spacer style lift as the suspension isn't designed to have that much down travel. You can add a bit of spacer lift (about 1/2") with a lifted spring and not bind up the cv.
As long as you don't have a line that is completely open to the environment, applying vacuum to the system should get all the moisture out of it. Then the shop will add a UV dye into the system that will help trace down the leak.

Installed my logging road radio yesterday - tucked it away in the center console - didn't want it just sitting on the console next to the shifter and it wouldn't fit in the little cubby under the heater controls.

Jeep got new front flex lines as one started to leak, sway bar bushes, and an O2 sensor. Had to make a short section of brake line as the stock fitting didn't want to turn independently of the line :(
What is availability of reman ecu's in the states like? I know I got the last one from my auto parts store a few years back when I had to replace mine (i'm in Canada)
I use a basic incandescent test light - hook the clamp to the positive post of the battery and probe the control side of the coil plug with the vehicle running - if the driver in the pcm is good the lamp will flash. you can also use a noid light - were common back in the day.
I have found that with the vehicle on the ground put a breaker bar on a wheel nut and give it a quick stab in the tightening direction - if the ball joint on the upper arm has play you should be able to hear and see it move.
