Yep, here is what you have to do:

Step 1 - Press and hold the "Lock" button on your key fob
Step 2 - Hold it for at least 4 seconds (but not more than 10)
Step 3 - While holding the lock button (after 4 seconds) press and hold the Panic button
Step 4 - Release both buttons at the same time.

If you need to enable the horn again, just follow these steps again. To stop the parking lights from flashing when hitting the lock/unlock buttons, follow these same steps but hold the "Unlock" button instead.

Hmm, if that didn't work then I am not sure what the issue is. You don't have to be in the car, just within range for you remote to work. Just tried it on my '09 and it worked

I just lock my doors/enable alarm by locking the door on the way out with the door switch. That way it doesn't beep.

i am going to install a remote start that utilizes my existing key fob. to start jeep you have to push the lock button 3x. so 3 beeps an then it beeps back to acknowledge the request to start. that's 4 beeps at 6am when i would be starting my jeep. kind of disturbing
