Hello all, long time lurker.

I have a 2010 with a 3.7 and 114K miles.
It has been a repair nightmare.

The block, alternator, starter, and water pump were all replaced pre-100K. AC stopped working here a few weeks ago, and then the transmission started slipping and throwing codes. I took it to a trans shop, and they rebuilt the mechanical, and replaced all the electronics.

The mechanic told me he noticed a pretty serious transmission fluid leak. His thought is that it was coming from the oil cooler. It only leaks when the car is moving (pressure in the transmission) so it's hard to find the leak. I picked the Jeep up yesterday, drove it home, and found that there was transmission fluid everywhere.

A buddy and I pulled the grill off this morning, and found the leak, coming from the aluminum lines (bad o-ring is my guess) that run into the oil cooler.

So, my question is, has anyone experienced similar oil cooler related woes?

Has anyone tried to replace one (cooler, hoses, lines) without and AC recovery machine?

Do I need an old priest and a young priest?

One option is to replace the cooler with a aftermarket one (same size) and leave the old one in place. I have not heard of any problems with the factory cooler or the fittings. you are the first.

With this liberty not having a dipstick i would not drive it until this situation is resolved since you don't know how much fluid is in it, and since this leak is the number 1 suspect in your first ****** failure. Mike
