Couple of questions. 1. When you change gears in the rear end do you also need to change them in the front? 2. I am thinking of putting in a lift but not for off road purpose, just for more clearance in the snow. Would a Jeep Liberty 3" Rough Country Lift Kits w/ Shocks work? As I said it will never see any serious off roading. I know I saw posts about the cheaper lifts wearing out the springs and such but I didn't know if that was from taking it off road.

The most reliable set up consists of OME Springs & new shocks like OME or Bilstiens.
When you change gears in a 4x4 KJ you have to do both front and rear same time. 4:10s
You really need to re gear if you are going into big tires like 31's,
It will help put the powerband at a higher rpm range, away from consistently roaming in/out of overdrive and probably helps a bit in fuel mileage department too.
Maybe I can steal these...

Yes, must change both front and rear gear sets.

Doesn't matter if you ever even drive into the grass you still want a good ride dont you? Do it right with a good lift or just forget it since it is not worth installing an RRO

Don't use RC lift for your libby, I currently have that setup and it may save money at first, your gonna end up spending more in the longrun, i would go check out the liftkit section and read everyone's testimoniescuz there's at least one person on here that's tried all these different lifts before. I'm saving up to do the OME lift
