Does anybody know the fluid capacity of the front and rear differential? It doesn't seem to be listed in the owners manual. I want to get my changed (60,000 mi.) I have an '05 and it runs like a top and want to keep it that way. Also what is the fluid capacity of the transfer case. Thinking of changing to Amsoil throughout. Top of the line, right?

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Front diff=2.6pints
Rear diff=4.4pints(add 4oz of friction modifier to rear diff if you have the factory Trac-Loc)
NP231 t-case(command trac)=2.95pints
NP242 t-case(select trac)=3.4pints

Suggested diff fluid changes is 12,000 miles.

All this info is also listed in the owner manual that is in the glove box.

Front Axle: 2.10 Quarts
Rear Axle: 1.25 Quarts

...get 4 quarts of 75W140 Gear Oil, fill until fluid seeps out of the fill hole.

Transfer Case: 1.5-2 Quarts of ATF+4

Better check those fluid capicties again, and you can use 75w90,74w140,or 80-90(first 2 synthetic, last 1 dino gear oil).

According to my 02 Manual: (PAGE 240)

Front : 1.24 L / 42 OZ

Rear : 2.07 L / 70 OZ

T-case : 1.3 L / 2.85 US PINTS

Converting to quarts:

Front : 1.3125 QUARTS

Rear : 2.1875 QUARTS

T-case : 1.425 QUARTS

Sorry, not sure were I got those previous numbers from....maybe I should check my diffs.....

But you first posted........
jeepkj02Front Axle: 2.10 Quarts
Rear Axle: 1.25 Quarts
hence why I stated to recheck your #'s,it would be very hard(not to mention very disasterous)to put 2.10qts in the front diff, and 1.25qts in the rear.

I really don't worry about the specific capacities, I just pump enough fluid until it start to come out of the fill hole...
