Google Maps, Waze (owned by Google) and Apple Maps all failed us last summer on several secondary roads between SC and FL when cell signal dropped.
Oddly enough, travel companions in another vehicle (Hyundai, I think) using built-in navigation where able to continuously map our route.
I...
I could be mistaken, but cell phone + an app require cellular service.
If you venture off the beaten path, cell signals may be weak or nonexistent.
A dedicated GPS may prove more reliable in these situations.
So, without the Brake Buddy, the switch will do nothing and can simply be removed. We need to do some front end body work (thanks to my teenage son) that will require removing the bumper and I see no reason to replace the switch.
Cool.

Our "new" KJ was a toad (towed) vehicle in an earlier life.
As such, it has a emergency breakaway pull switch mounted in the front bumper. How complicated would it be to remove it?
Thinking it would suck if something (someone) were to snatch it out.
Also, the KJ also has tow bar mounts...
Another $80
Hoping to make it past Christmas Day without another repair but no such luck.
Walked outside this AM and noticed a fresh stain in the driveway.
$50 for new water pump and about $30 for a couple of gallons of coolant.
Never could get the bleed plug out to "burp" the system...
Oil Leak
Replaced oil pressure sending unit (sensor?) on our 2002 KJ.
It was a bit of a pain in the **** due to limited accessibility (working blind).
Hopefully fixes that nagging oil leak that started right after we bought the vehicle from friends.
