I apologize if I've missed it, but is the outer tie rod end nut (to steering knuckle) on a 2003 KJ torqued to 80ft lbs? I thought it was lower than that.
Thanks, I couldn't remember from when I replaced them last.
Thanks, yeah, I have some and used it to find the high pressure leak last time. Your reminder helped, I'll put some more in and see if I can spot the leak. Thanks again!
We've got rusted out exhaust flanges (at the y-pipe) on my son's 03 Liberty, but the rest of the pipe looks good, it still has the oem catalytic converter. Thinking of just replacing the flanges, anyone know if the y pipe is available, or maybe know the pipe size (or Walker, etc. part number)...
Power steering fluid leak. Slow leak, bottom of the reservoir is wet with fluid, and some on the return line.
I replaced the pump six months ago with a new BBB Vision OE, because I thought the reservoir on the old pump was leaking at the o-ring.
New pump installed. Still had a leak, but this...
Ok, disregard what I mentioned about the Teflon gasket, it apparently doesn't go inside the pump. I suspect it's just included with a generic instruction/o-ring package that comes with the new pump.
Tried to shove it inside the pump, does not fit the opening without distorting badly, so I know...
I figured it out.....it goes inside the pump high pressure fitting. It's not something you'd encounter unless you install a brand new pump. It stays inside the pump; I can see remnants of the old one in the old pump where it screws in.
There's the Teflon gasket and the line has an o-ring. If you...
Reason for replacing the Cardone reman pump is a bad leak at the high pressure line. I'm assuming the oring isnt sealing between the line and the pump. New oem orings didn't help. Somehow, it manages to leak a steady small stream between the fitting and metal line.
I bought this BBB Vision OE...
Can anyone tell me what the white gasket is for? I know where the oring goes, but there is a white Teflon gasket also which is about the same OD as the ID of the high pressure hose opening. Doesn't go into the threaded hole easily, but could be threaded in, I believe.
Thanks. Trouble i'm having...
Thought this might help someone out....in the event you don't want to purchase oem clamps:
for the 3.7L (2002 to 2006):
Top radiator hose - engine side is 47mm.....radiator side is 49mm
Bottom hose - both are 55mm
Does anyone know either a part number or size (and material) of the little o-rings that go on the metal lines at the radiator? We just replaced the radiator and reused the o-rings (original, 2003 3.7L with 145k miles). And, either I'm nervous about overtightening or the orings are worn out...
Changed radiator yesterday, and noticed the airbag sensor connector was loose, the connector lock is broken and plug isn't staying in tight. Does anyone have one of these connectors (or, pigtail) they would sell? It's a 2003 Liberty.
Thanks!
Having a tough time finding a reman Mopar power steering pump. It has an A1 Cardone leaker on it now, so that brand is out.
Has anyone used Vision-OE? Or, another good brand? Reman or new? Thanks!
