    Front axle repair

Spray weld doesn't work so well on the GM design or most others because the bearing rollers ride on the hardened surface of the axles and the spray welds are not that hard. Machining them down and welding with stick or TIG then turning back and hardening the surface works.

    2002 Limited 3.7L Engine Repair/Replace Advice

If it were mine and a rust free one (never happen in NY unless I imported it) I would likely rebuild the current engine. Use all the newer updated parts and drive it until the wheels fall off. Or drop a reman in it that has a warranty. I would also find another shop for a second opinion and a...

No heat Still 2003 liberty 3.7L

Hit your local home store and buy a short piece of clear vinyl line and a coupler, install that in one of the heater core lines, start the engine and watch for flow. Next you say you replaced the thermostat and the core, pump and flushed with no change. When it's running do the heater hoses get...

Hard brake pedal after I did heatercore.

The pedal getting harder as you drive isn't going to be the parking brakes. Even if they were dragging they cannot self apply. However a bad master cylinder or rubber line can cause this as both can block fluid return to the reservoir. This will cause the hard pedal because the fluid expands and...

    Dreaded P0420 help.

It isn't that they get clogged it is that the catalyst materials get coated with oil/fuel residue and that causes them to slow down or stop working. The solvent wash sometimes will clean that off enough that they work again, but unless the issue upstream is repaired it will be a short lived...

    Stuck Getting Engine In

First be sure the converter is seated in the pump properly. Then hit a store or junk box and find a longer pair of bolts that you can cut the heads off and thread into the block to act as guide pins, do the same with a bolt long enough to ***** into the converter to align a hole with the...

Big feet. When braking, my foot hits the gas. Any else have this problem?

I had a similar issue being a big guy and wearing my turnout gear, the micky mouse boots make it difficult to deal with, so I did a bit of surgery under the dash. Relocated the throttle pedal an inch and used a salvage pedal that I cut and added a block into to move it an inch to the left. Gave...

Best Place For Evap Leak Test

EVAP test for P0456 - Ignition off. Fuel Level less than 88%. Ambient Temperature between 39 and 109, Close Loop fuel system. As temperatures change, a vacuum is created in the fuel tank and EVAP system. With the EVAP system sealed, the PCM monitors the Evap System Monitor switch. If the ESM...

Take it for a drive and check the temperature ate each wheel every 5-10 minutes. Just hold your hand close to the center of the wheel. If one of the brakes is causing an issue you will feel it being much warmer than the others. Don't keep driving it that way though, that heat into the brakes and...

You’re thoughts about cold air intake system worth it? Or waste of time

On a race car where you are rebuilding or at least refreshing the engines after every event a cold air intake and K&N can give you a couple HP. For everything thing else they are a waste of time UNLESS they are a true cold air intake that can provide a bit of ram air. Not going to happen on...

    Compatible?

Go visit Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market Punch in the info on your vehicle and select sort by year. However I think you will find that on the 05 the doors and glass will fit directly as will most interior parts. The front is different but you can use it, if you swap everything over...

    I HATE the Liberty!

I actually agree with the OP in some regards. EVERY KJ I've been near has rotted rocker panels. I have welded in a lot of replacements. Both of mine were rotted, the CHMSL lights both leaked and caused rot at the roof and around the hatch seams. Both are due to poor designs and materials. That...

    Air Conditioning Problem

If it doesn't have it you have a LOT of work to do if you want to install it. Your best bet is to find an 02/03 parts rig. You will need the condenser, compressor, lines for those, the drier, and you need the HVAC box, plus the control head in the dash and you will need the ECM and BCM flashed...

    Add fog lights

The blue wire from the fog lamps connects to terminal 33 on connector C3 on the junction block (that is the fancy name for the fuse panel located in the end of the dash panel) BUT before you go through that. Take a look at the front lamp wiring harness connector (C 107 on the picture) tucked...

    Add fog lights

The MFS won't work on it's own to turn the fog lights on. It's not designed to carry any load. This is the power side of the lights. The MFS connects to this through the BCM. There is no direct connection.
