A local dealership will be installing a new PCM in a few days. I'm curious, once it's installed, about how many miles does my KJ have to be driven in order for the PCM to run through all the engine checks it normally does?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I agree that I shouldn't have waited so long (but since the initial code was AC-related and the AC was working fine, I didn't think anything of it.)
I really do appreciate your help.
Do you know if a dealership has the capability of running a test that will enable them to pinpoint the exact problem? In other words, can a test tell them if the ECU needs to be replaced or if it's the signals that are bad?
Something I should have mentioned earlier is that back in '09 I took...
My check engine light’s been on for a good year. A month after it came on, I took my KJ to Auto Zone for a quick check. I don’t recall the error code but I think it had something to do with a relay for the AC. Since the AC was working fine, I blew it off. A couple months later I drove by another...
The price is only $28 and he's got 100% positive feedback.
I've heard good things about the Steiger Performance window regulator repair kit but it costs three times as much (i.e. $90).

Does anybody know the answers to the following?
1) Can I buy just the weatherstripping that goes around the sunroof?
2) If so, can it be replaced without removing the sunroof?
3) Where can I find an online parts fiche for the KJ?
He's right in that there are many snaps around the perimeter of the interior door panel. I have a special tool I bought at Auto Zone (for $9) that is specifically designed for removing these panels. I recently had all four of my panels and off and didn't break a single snap. In my opinion...
I'm fairly certain I checked all the hoses going in and out of it but I'll check again tomorrow.
I hope it's just the fuel cap because I don't need another expense right now.
Thanks.
I just got a P0455 code and one of the things it said to check was the evap canister. I checked everything around the fuel tank and everything looked fine. As for the fuel cap, I replaced it two weeks ago because I got a P0455 code then, too. I replaced the fuel cap the check...
If you get a Garmin or TomTom, don't you have to go to their web site and pay a fee to download the latest maps? I thought I heard somebody say that once.
According to WalMart.com, the Garmin nuvi 1300 4.3" GPS Navigator is their best seller. The online price is $117 and was originally...
It looks like they can be charged but the charge only lasts for about four hours.
More importantly, I'm getting the impression that sales of these will probably go down for a couple of reasons:
1) More and more cars are coming with a built-in GPS system
2) More and more people are buying...
Strictly out of curiosity, I was looking up prices on GPS systems and had no idea even name brands like Garmin and TomTom were selling for as little as $80 brand new.
How many of you were able to mount one onto your dash and make it look at least somewhat stock? I've seen cars whose GPS system...
I've been meaning to ask this question for some time: What exactly is a locker? Is it the same as posi-trac?
Say you've got a rear wheel drive truck whose differential has posi-trac. Wouldn't that mean that power is going to both rear wheels in equal amounts at all times? Can a locker be...
