How did you end up with your KJ?

We originally got it back in 2014 to tow behind our motorhome since it was already set up by the previous owner. No longer have the MH and have a Ram 2500 and 5th wheel but still keep the little Jeep for errands into town or wandering around in the high Nevada desert...

    GPS/multimedia head units

I just ordered a new Pioneer Avic-7200NEX. It is one step down from the 8200, the biggest difference being the screens. The 8200 has one like a phone that is more sensitive. For $570 shipped, I couldn't pass it up. The only difference between the 8200 vs 8201, is the 8201 comes with a...

    GPS/multimedia head units

Not sure about the 8200 series, but I have a Pioneer AVIC 5000NEX in my Ram 2500 and it rocks even with stock speakers. I love it. Been in there two years and no issues. The sound quality over the stock unit is amazing. The only issue is sometimes the phone reception *****, not sure why...

    GPS antennna

I finally plan on breaking down and getting a double din head unit. Where did you guys mount your GPS antenna? I mounted one in my 07 Ram 2500 and it had a sweet factory spot in the center of the dash up by the windshield. I don't see any place like that on the Liberty. Thanks for any help.

    Minimum offset with 8" rims?

Did you not read the part where I said I will just look for Moabs.........TWICE IN THIS THREAD?!? If not, revert to post #'s 5 and 15, or just continue trying to make others look stupid with your childish laughing smilies. :emotions34:

    Minimum offset with 8" rims?

I was not asking the question if they will rub again, just trying to get it across that I don't care if they stick out much and won't put enough miles on it to worry about stress. In fact I said I am looking for Moab's. :Insane:

    Minimum offset with 8" rims?

To be clear, my question about backspacing had nothing whatsoever to do with looking "cool". Just want to know if there would be rubbing issues with less spacing. Yes, a deep offset is rough on the bearings over time, but this KJ doesn't see many miles, so that is a very minor concern. I've...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Yep, I have had to repair a few of them over the years and they are tough, everything is boxed. They are basically overbuilt to support the weight of the spare tire.

    Minimum offset with 8" rims?

I wasn't by any stretch trying to compare slightly lifted KJ's to SAS Toyota's on 37's. Just mentioned them, among others around here that have tires that stick out a bunch. Looks like my search for reasonably priced Moabs will continue.

    Minimum offset with 8" rims?

My Sidekick had 245/75 Duratracs on 16x8" rims with 3.75 backspacing, but also had 1 1/2" spacers necessary for clearance and also helped for stability. They definitely stuck out a bit, but I wouldn't exactly call it the "tuner" look...... The downside is getting rain and mud thrown up the...

    Minimum offset with 8" rims?

I'm not real happy with the 7" Renegade wheels on the 265/70 tires I have. They suck in the sidewalls a bit more than I would like. Not bad, but I'm pretty **** about that. So, I'm looking at possibly new rims in the future. I have seen a few online with around 3 1/2" bs. Will that kick...

    Newer style Moabs

They are all over Craigslist for sale. Probably a reason for that!

What did you do to your jeep today?

I mainly put the grease on it to be certain there is no more squawking. Besides, I believe the Moog bushings are silicone or polyurethene, not rubber. Which should be resistant to most types of lube. Even if they do crap out, at $10 shipped, I'm not going to loose any sleep over it...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Got the Moog sway bar bushings installed after I lathered them up with red bearing grease. Took it out in the desert over my favorite whoop-de-do's, and it seemed to have got rid of 90% of the front end noise. :waytogo: Still got that clunking sound when the front shocks are extended. I...
