Well, was time to let my KJ go with 7 years of good service. It wasn't easy but with rust eating away at the rockers, doors, and roof and multiple parts needing replaced I was looking between $3,000 - $4,000 to get it fixed up. As of now, I really regret not taking Auto body repair when I went...

Still rocking my original set. Still going strong!

Mine was doing the same thing. A new coolant tank cap fixed it.

No, I'm in Johnstown. Probably the number 2 salt capital of the world. Where they put down that pre treatment crap so heavy it looks like it rained and soaked the road. If you drive through it while wet your whole vehicle turns white.

I understand the picture makes it look bad. When putting the new springs in I wiped off the upper control arms with a damp rag. Perfectly clean now and no rust other than 1 little spot on a weld that I have to touch up. The upper ball joints boots never sealed as good as the oem ones did...

Yeah, just wanted to point out that those 2 identical coils came off the same spring. There are 3 total pieces which are pictured with the coil they came off of.

Thing I was surprised about is that the coil wasn't rusted all the way through and it still broke. I was also intrigued about the 2 pieces that came off the 1 coil are almost identical in size and where they broke.

Well, got everything swapped over. Both springs were broken. The driver's side was broke in 2 places, the passenger side in 1. I'm just hoping my rear coils hold up now...... :happy175:

And now that I think of it, one of my springs had a slight bubble under the coating when I first installed the lift. It later broke the coating and started rusting there. I wonder if it was a defect in the metal? I'll have to check it out to see if it was the same spring.
