I have somewhat the same issue with a creaking sound coming from the rear when going over sloped curves and bumps. Thinking it is the rear stabilizer bushings. Project for next spring as we just had our first snow.
So I couldn't sleep and decided to educate myself. tommudd please correct me if I have it wrong as I didn't know one needed to be a chemistry major to keep your engine cool. I also just purchased a washer/dryer and am also ready to get a washboard and head to the creek. Story for a different...
I looked at your pdf and G12 ++ is a Si-OAT organic silicat based coolant. I am not sure what the difference is between Si-Oat and HOAT. I do know KJs use HOAT. Reposting TCs pic. Use one of these two in the KJ for a worry free coolant system. Well worry free until the radiator develops a...
Welcome to the forum. It could be the shifter interlock cable. A know issue with KJs. That would not explain the ETC light though. It is just a mechanical interlock to prevent starting in any other gear besides park or neutral. Per your question above, connecting the two battery cables...
Hi Jennylyn and welcome. Spark plug eh? That is a head scratcher. Does it matter which one? Billwill is kind of the electrical guru here. KJs (Liberty) have been known to have electrical gremlins, but this is weird even for that. As stated above, it could be the actuator pin or maybe the...
It appears the mouse owes the mudd a steak dinner for the help. ;)
Seriously, I admire both of you. I always looked at vehicles as transportation and never had the desire, tools, or ability to take on projects like this. I can do basic maintenance and repairs, but that is my extent. Too...
I also wonder what caused it to detonate. The rev limiter should be a safeguard for such things. I have been ******* my 3.7 more times than I care to admit. Never got it to triple digits (MPH) but looked down more than once to see the dial at 90.
Anyway... Good luck on your project. Keep...
Welcome. I live across the lake in WI. I have an '06 with 150K that I bought in '08. The KJ (02-07) has been a solid 4WD Jeep. The 3.7L engine is proven and the 42RLE transmission has been durable for me. That being said the Jeep does have its flaws. The good news is most of them have...
I doubt multiple coils would be intermittently bad. Agree 100% on the NGK plugs. Lots of plug threads here and they always circle back to use the NGK factory plugs.
Wow! I did not they were so readily available. And plug and play! Working lots of hours on the road but will let the shop know this is available. Thanks all!
