    repair costs

My 2002 Liberty Limited has a few rust issues. I'm trying to decide if it would be cost effective to have the rust repaired or replace the vehicle. I have had rocker panels replaced on other cars, it wasn't all too costly, the area inside the passengers rear door has ne concerned. Any input or...

    Tires or what ?

Stupid question……. My box stock 2002 Liberty has this habit of going outta control when there is ice and snow on the ground. I mean about 10-15 mph turning onto a side street, it spins about 2 times and end up straddling the island in the middle of the road. Didn't even feel the slightest hint...

    Another A/C question

Actually, replaced the condenser and a hose or 2. Don't matter, found what was needed on another website'

    Another A/C question

At the risk of asking stupid questions, is that a drain plug on the side of my A/C compressor ? What should be in there ?. I keep seeing comments about putting the same amount of oil in the replacement compressor as came out of the old one. After an hour or so, of rotating this way then the...

    OK, Now what

So I assume this has something to do with that word " maintenance " ?. Or not, i'm in my 60s and never lost a motor this way .

    OK, Now what

Pulled the motor and took things apart. Here is a pic of what came out of cylinders # 1 and 2. This must of sounded great when it happened . Sorry I'm not much of a photographer.

    OK, Now what

Yes, I have made several buys thru the folks at CoPart.. A name like copart and they don't sell parts. This Jeep had a " buy it now " of $ 450. I had to. It had come from a local used car lot, it was spotless inside and out. Doesnt have a SKIM module on the steering column. Just an unidentified...

    OK, Now what

Yes, the replacement engine has the proper number of teeth on the tone/Transluctor ring. Been kinda slow doing anything with the Liberty. I have to work outdoors and when it drops to around 20 degrees with a cross wind, The inspiration is kinda lacking. I added a pic of my work area, it *****...

    OK, Now what

Hi, Kinda have a few questions about my 2002 Liberty Limited ( 3.7 auto trans 4X4 ) I recently acquired from Copart. The motor is seized big time. Stripped the motor of heads, exhaust manifolds and most everything that looked like it would fight me removing the motor. We removed the crank pulley...

    Newbie Here, just saying hi

the folks insist that is out of a 2002, but, I'll waste an oil pan gasket and make sure of the tooth count on the reluctor/tone wheel. My luck always seems to go sideways. We will see Wednesday when Estes Freight get here.

    Newbie Here, just saying hi

Well, Outside of the drivers side rocker panel, there is very little rust. So I have ordered a used motor from some salvage yard in Morganstown, WV who was willing to put a warranty on it for a fair price. It'll go in and drive it for the winter. Gotta be better than a 97 2WD ford ranger out of...

    Newbie Here, just saying hi

Been lurking for awhile, decided to make my presence known. I am in the Davenport Iowa area. Just an old guy with a Jeep interest, tho been Cherokee so far. Came into a 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited on CoPart for next to nothing. Not running at this point, more coolant in the oil pan than in the...
