The source of magnesium in your oil is the oil itself. It will vary from test to test if you use different motor oils.
If you plan to do routine oil testing on that engine, I would suggest using the same oil with every oil change.
Then you shouldn't see significant fluctuation of the numbers...
I flat tow a '05 Liberty Sport with 42RLE transmission.
I think it has the (Command-Trac) NV241 xfer case, but not certain of that.
When towing, I have the following:
- transfer case in Neutral
- transmission in Park
- ignition switch in the OFF UNLOCKED position
Have not encountered the...
My 05 Liberty with 145K on transmission does the same thing occasionally.
When shifting from Park or Reverse into drive, you may be able to mitigate the problem you describe by using this sequence:
[Park or Reverse] -> [Neutral] -> wait 15 seconds -> [Drive].
Before you go off the rails with complex troubleshooting, I would suggest you force the electronics to re-learn the shift points. This is a link to a different forum that has instructions for forcing the transmission to re-learn...
Why do you need to replace it? The filter is a fine mesh bag inside the fuel tank. I believe the fuel filter is intended to last as long as the fuel pump. It is not intended to be replaced periodically like a canister type of fuel filter.
Sounds good. I know how frustrating it can be finding parts for older vehicles, and the dealers are often clueless. Glad you were able to find what you were searching for.
52080120AE does NOT have integral transmission cooler according to my parts info.
My parts info does not list this part - 52080118AB .
My guess is they changed the design from integral trans cooler to separate trans cooler after your Liberty was built. So the 52080118AB is probably the old...
I see the factory service manual for 2005, and it has section 21 for the 42RLE transmission. But the info in that section does not provided guided troubleshooting/testing steps for specific diagnostic trouble codes. It seems the manual I mentioned in my original post for the 45RFE transmission...
Thanks - I have that info. But that FSM does not seem to include the Diagnostic Codes for the transmission and the respective diagnostic steps and corrective actions.
On that same link you provided, there is a Transmission service manual for the 45RFE transmission. I was hoping to obtain the...
I found the trans service manual for 45RFE transmission, but I cannot find the service manual for the 42RLE.
In case it matters, I have a 2005, therefore it does not have VLP.
If a transmission service manual exists for the 42RLE, I would appreciate a pointer.
Thanks much.
