    My 05 Liberty with 145K on transmission does the same thing occasionally. When shifting from Park or Reverse into drive, you may be able to mitigate the problem you describe by using this sequence: [Park or Reverse] -> [Neutral] -> wait 15 seconds -> [Drive].

    Why do you need to replace it? The filter is a fine mesh bag inside the fuel tank. I believe the fuel filter is intended to last as long as the fuel pump. It is not intended to be replaced periodically like a canister type of fuel filter.
