To pull the trigger or not?

Wanna say thanks to everyone for their input. I am of the same mindset as Bob though--I'm in a rust belt/salt belt state as well and I didn't see any rust that really looked killer to me. Most cars around here have just as much, if not more, on the undercarriage. Anyways, I really like this...

To pull the trigger or not?

Hmm, are you guys saying too much rust based on the picture of the rusted panel or on something you're seeing in the other pics as well? Mechanic made it sound like it wasn't really too bad from what he saw...

To pull the trigger or not?

Some of you may recall a few weeks back when I posted a thread inquiring about an 04 Liberty renegade. Initially, the dealership was asking $7,300. They have since dropped their price twice and are now down to $5,899. So i took it for a test drive and enjoyed it quite a bit! So i had my mechanic...

    Cabin space--Prospective buyer

Another update for you guys. The dealership that the 04 Renegade was at has lowered their price to $6,600. I have been crazy busy this week and still haven't had a chance to meet with them or test drive it. So potentially i could talk them down even lower still!

So I found a different KJ I'm gonna check out. It's about an hour away and it's a 2004 Sport, not renegade. They're asking $7k and it looks in a lot better shape. And, it only has 58k miles!!

That's not too bad, but i'm about 6 hours south of Chicago. Haha.

    Cabin space--Prospective buyer

Yeah that's the thing...most in the area in similar condition/mileage/years etc are the same price or more expensive. I found one cheaper within 50 miles but that's pretty much it. The market is just pretty inflated up here. But I've always heard that yeah around 25% is markup and that usually...

How's the leg room, horizontally? I've heard the foot wells are kinda cramped. Looks like the center console area kinda protrudes.

    Cabin space--Prospective buyer

Cool, yeah...I figured dealer is probably going to pay/trade in value around $4.5-5.5k and I would expect a hundred dollars off or so each for fenders, dent, seat tear, paint, as well as carfax showing 2 accidents reported. I have also always heard that some salesmen are more likely to take...

    Cabin space--Prospective buyer

It's a little pricey, to be sure. But the 4x4 market up here is inflated. I guess having a 4x2 wouldn't be a dealbreaker, but honestly they aren't much cheaper and we get a lot of snow so i'd like the option of having 4wd. So...I dunno. Really, it's going for the same or cheaper than a lot of...

    Cabin space--Prospective buyer

Did a quick search on Craigslist, Autotrader, and Cars.com. Cheapest I found was an '03 Sport with 132,***. Automatic, 4x4, V6. Asking $4k. It's not a bad looking jeep, although the interior is much rougher than the Renegade. And it's approx. 50 miles away--which isn't a dealbreaker, but I was...
