Hey...
I have these strange "clunks" when I wiggle the steering wheel back and forth, I can feel them in my hands holding the steering wheel more than I can here them (but you can hear them for sure as well)
I've found this thread...
as I understood - less washers means pinion points lower.. right ?
could you please send a photo that shows where you are supposed to add / remove the washers in order make the pinion go up/down ?
Thanks all !
I have removed all washers before but still - pinion is pointing upwards :\
Thats when I thought to myself I must have missed something so asked here...
Only difference is I didn't try to roll the car a bit forward in order to drop pinion before I bolt everything... do you...
Hi,
Seems like my rear diff and rear driveshaft are aligned in a straight line (while having steeper angle at the front where it connects to transfer case)
Having vibrations at highway speeds, I understood I have to make the rear pinion same (opposite) angle as the transfer case...
theoretically speaking, looks like it should be fine...
considering the following:
going from 235/75 to 245/75 is +5.2% ( https://tiresize.com/comparison/ )
looking at the gear ratio / tire size chart at Differential Gear Ratio to Tire Size Guide | Offroaders.com
you can see that using...
Thanks! much appreciated...
I am not sure whats considered small/large movement but it does feel mine is not small :\
and another friend with a libby just checked and said no movement at all on his ...
Yeah I have seen that thread... my harmonic damper is still there but before I remove it...
Hi all...
I have vibrations starting at 60~ mph...
While inspecting rear driveshaft, axle angle, etc - I have noticed that when I grab the front of the rear driveshaft (where the harmonic balancer is) and try to move it up and down - there is a play... feels like the loose part is the...
even if thats not the cause for the 50 mph vibrations - still, when i look for "driveshaft angles", most images look like:
which makes mine the "worst" case - is it ?
I am lifted using dobinsons kit + top plates and clevis in front and extra top isolator at rear
So how should I tackle this 50 mph vibration? What should I inspect in what order?
I know a wrong installation can cause this but how can I tell this is the case?
My driveshaft was a bit...
Yeah already read it and put the harmonic balancer on my checklist… couldnt find any information regarding correct shaft angle :/
Of course I immediately ask the mechanic about it which said its because of driveshaft ujoint. Replaced the ujoint and still vibrates - that's when I figured it...
Hi all,
Trying to figure out the cause for a vibration starting at ~50 mph ever since I got my 4.10 gears installed by my mechanic :\
I am thinking rear driveshaft angle is not right...
rear axle is aligned straight with the shaft - axle might even be facing upwards a bit...
is that the...
some updates...
I went to my mechanic once again in order to inspect the whole issue together...
Two problems found today...
1. it is true it seemed like the bolt isn't all the way in... truth is the bolt was "resting" on the inner metal guideline of the bushing which is for some unknown...
