Was only getting PO456. Replaced gas cap with a locking one from Autozone. Cleared codes and was fine for a week.
456 came back and this time got the GASCAP message on my odometer, reseated the gas cap. cleared code and no issue for a few days
Then both 456 and 457 with the GASCAP message came up 2 days ago.
Back to Autozone and got a non-locking one, cleared and no change. Still both codes and the message

Have not noticed any MPG issues or gas fume smells, not visible drips on the ground.

Time for smoke and vacuum test?
I hope not. out of work, $$ tight

I had a similar issue with my 07. There is a dectection valve on the back of your charcoal canister called your “Fuel Vapor Leak Dection Pump”.

when this went bad with me I got the same issue.
(Mine has a hole in it, but it’s a $20 part that 2 diagnostic trips to shops coudnt find.)

SUPER easy to replace too.
I’d start there if I were you. Replace the part, clear codes, do a drive cycle, if it comes back then you’ve got a diffrent issue

Heres a HOW-TO video for it -

And heres the part youll need (Same one i replaced mine with) - https://www.autozone.com/engine-man...-vapor-leak-detection-pump-esm1001/125190_0_0

Pull yours off first to see if theres any corrosion/holes/cracks in it first, dont want you just buying stuff that may not fix the issue.

Mine had corroded strait through the plastic where the one electrical connector fit in, causing it to fail.

No corrosion on mine. did replace it.
by this time I only had a 0457 code for the gas cap. this is my 3rd cap (got one with the pump via amazon and has been in place for 3 days) inc the OEM one. Also have the gascap message on the odometer.

After replacing it, the code did not come back but the message remains. I put the OEM cap back on and still no codes, but yes message, same for # 2 cap, which is a locking one
I rescanned for codes 3x after replacing it, between the cap changes

Could be a bad filler neck, or a cracked filler neck hose

I left cardboard under the tank and area overnight, no drips
will watch the area when gassing up for any leaks

Do you smell gas fumes whenever youre back there? 90% of the time it wont be a physical liquid leak, bit more of an air leak, preventing the fuel system form gaining or holding pressure, and then causing an EVAP leak

Well on my drive into work tonite (3rd shifter) The gascap message went away.
No codes, no message. I may be resolved with just the pump replacement

Mine was resolved the same way. Replaced part, cleared code, disconnected battery and did a drive cycle. Hope it fixed it for ya mate.
