Over there, over there, over there and up there..
alright here we go..I was trying to get some pics uploaded but they all failed at 60-70% so...
This little blue jeep came to me a little blue heep :/ 17yrs down the road, think I am the 4th owner? and we had some issues, some fun and some busted knuckles and bolts in my 1yr of ownership so far..I am currently in the process of tearing down the top of the engine to treat the heads and cooling system to some much needed TLC....swam through the forums and havent found anything on removing the oil dipstick tube...nothing on this jeep has been easy. So can anyone tell me how many bolts are used in the lower dipstick tube mount? is it 1 or 2? any help would be much appreciated....

A list of things broken so far:
exhaust coupler bolt just below the manifold
left and right bank breather tubes split at the fittings
pcv valve elbow tube
pcv valve
2 injector connector clips(still functional thankfully)
Thermostat housing, thermostat, and bolts(snapped off 1/4" out)
Timing cover
Serpentine belt
radiator
rear pass fender flare
2 coil packs
high mount brake light(almost caught on fire -.- )
both rear window actuators(rear driver is currently locked in place) the pins on the clips that hold the glass are bent so they wont hold passed a certain point and drop off into the bottom of the door....so much hatred there..
hood latch dying
interior panel under the driver dash(where the hood latch lever is lmao)
she was running on 1 cylinder when she came into my possession and wouldnt climb a hill without a big head start and a lot of throttle..
command-trac part-time Hi slams in and out on a hill, 4Lo works like a dream...
shifter panel light has a short somewhere(I had it working for about 10minutes one night, stopped for gas and it never came back on)
air cleaner hose wasnt fully connected to the intake/throttle body(bottom had a 1" gap)
Alternator
Battery
Suspension(fml is like fried eggs)
Do Not Spare(Donuts and not the good kind)...

think thats it so far...much more to do so plenty of room and time for broken bits..
forgot to mention, I am moving across the country in a few weeks lmao...

I have Done a little and about to do more..

done so far:
Alternator
Battery
1 coil pack(the other I discovered last night)
Timing cover & seal
Water pump Seals
Harmonic Balancer seal
Thermostat, Housing, Bolts
Oil and Filter(needs another)
Coolant flush
4 spark plugs(budgets are a beach)
1.5" spider trax spacers
Brake pads(need to treat my calipers to a day at the spa)
Replaced sploded front axle(need to do a little filing on a couple teeth and I can rebuild the old one)...

What I want to do:
Throw her up 3"
Drop to 15" rims
trim my fenders about a half inch then roll the edge up another half and put Matte Black renegade flares on
12klb Winch(considering several variations)
snorkle
6 lights
CB
Bull bar/brush guard
roof rack
rotopax fuel, water
compressor for airups
coloring my fog lights
move my high mount to the spare tire rack(cause yes....)
move my fuel tank(any recommends/thoughts please do, this is a turrible placement and daimler[spelling?] should be ashamed..bastages..)
Blacked out badges
Air locker in the 8.25 thats there already(compressor >;} )
tuning chip(thoughts or recs?)
clean my intake(its like the scarey door...)
need to replace the hub assemblies soon
Extended ball joints
A-Arms and everything else required with lifting her 3"(never lifted anything so kind of in the dark)
....I know I am leaving things out...

Floors open ladies and gents Dont have to be gentle lol I can take it..

Really need to read here and LOSTJEEPs, on some of the things you " want "
I have seen many waste a lot of money on worthless parts and things that did not work on a KJ
Some ideas you have may work, others, well throwing money at bad ideas

Me, and many others have been building these things for years, I started in 04 doing KJs and have done over 60 KJ lifts so far
Plus many other things over the years, been building 4x4s and owning Jeeps for over 40 years

PLUS it is a 4 cylinder, you mention 4 spark plugs so ???
If you have a 4 cylinder I would drive it, forget larger tires/ lift etc since it is a dog from the get go and already has the lowest gearing available for the D30a front diff

I get that some stuff wont work, thats what sounding boards are for...the renegade flares(as a visual aide i suppose, because i dont like the stock flares on my sport..since you been around this engine block is it necessary to mess with the timing chains to remove the heads? nvm, found my answer, tomorrow i makes a wedge or 2...fml
