It wasn't that when I bought it, but that's a similar setup.

and a note on the 790 front springs; if you go that route, you will NOT be assembling them on the front strut yourself. it took a shop specializing in heavy duty vehicles to be able to compress that spring and assemble it.

Ah, Thanks Great info. sota.. That's good for all to know...

I'm sure their great, I've bought and used OME's before, I just felt like Tom was pushing a sale of them...
I totally understand, and IF that's the route I decide to go I'll be sure to get the OME's again.
One thing I noticed with my past OME springs was that the black coating/paint had peeled off and the all look/are very rusty. Maybe the snow /salt from around here/and the the plowing.
Also part of the deciding factor is I don't want a stiff bouncy ride for the other 90% of the time the truck will be driven as my other past trucks have been.

I'm trying to change my gear oil order now to 75w-90 instead of the 140....

The 140 is if your towing - most likely in the heat too.

The 75w90 is what's listed to cover ALL temps

Differential, Rear W/ 8.25 RBI W/ TT......GL-5
All TEMPS......75W-140 [3]
Severe Gear® 75W-140 (SVOPK)
Differential, Rear W/ 8.25 RBI W/O TT......GL-5
All TEMPS......75W-90
Severe Gear® 75W-90 (SVGPK)
75W-90 Long Life Synthetic Gear Lube (FGRQT)
Severe Gear® 75W-110 (SVTQT)
Differential, Front......GL-5
All TEMPS......80W-90 [4]
SAE 80W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube (AGLQT)
Severe Gear® 75W-90 (SVGPK)
Severe Gear® 75W-110 (SVTQT)

Ok numbers are in. At the center of the front wheel, ground to fender flare WITH OUT the plow on (just the front receiver installed) the Libby is at 31 -3/4". With the plow on and raised it's at 30 - 3/4". It's exactly 1" inch of sag right now.

See link of pictures with Escape next to the Liberty (that has 1.75" OME springs front & rear - it needed it for sure over the Liberty stock)

Sorry Sir, I DO NOT push sales , I do not sell them, I do not make anything off of them in any way, I try to help people make the right choice before they make a mistake in installing something that will not work. Been lifting 4x4s and doing suspension work for over 40 years, last 14 years have done over 56 KJs plus 2 of mine and never push, advise is all
Sorry I was pushing you

I DO REALLY APPRECIATE the HELP and ADVISE that's why I'm on these forums. To get experienced advice from people just like yourself, of what works and what doesn't.
Sorry if I offended you, ( I don't mean too), as I mentioned in the start of the thread, I was looking for trans cooling advise. I guess it's the way I read the responses, I just kept seeing about the OME springs.
The last thing I want to do is lose an experienced helpful connection.
WE COOL ? :happy160:

MOABs with Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar 245/70R16
JBA UCA 4.5
OME 790/948/90009/N32
Western Suburbanite 7'4" plow
DetoursUSA Backbone

in his signature and look 790 OME springs LOL

Ok after recent inspection my ball joints boots have tears (ball joints are still good - no play yet). SOOOOO, I'm now looking to replace them, most likely with the JBA's (w/ replaceable joints) and I suppose while I'm at it I'll do the lift kit, - struts/springs -....!

I went to the Jeep in by Al web site to look at the suggested 2.5" 790 spring kits (suggested by TomMudd), but they've been listed Out Of Stock
https://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2002...-systems-kj/jba-2-50-kj-liberty-lift-kit.html

Where do I go to get a kit now a days ?
I like the idea of getting all together (knowing all paired /works with each other, and have all I need to do the job) all in one place /package. (If I can.)....

I'd like to get the front spring/struts pre assembled, so I don't have to go to a shop to get them assembled. - again if I can, not the end of the world if I have to.

I did look at doing this on the cheap. Getting either just the JBA UCA's ( or just the replacement Moog UCA's from Rock Auto - Thinking If I replace the ball joints/control arms now they "should" last at least as long as the stock ones did 14 yrs. if not longer being Moog) then , front pre-assembled strut springs and rear shocks and maybe (if needed) springs from Rock Auto and then just getting the CHEAP DayStar spacer lift...

I don’t have any personal experience with RRO’s products and service, but I know that many on here and other Liberty forums will say to avoid them. Old Man Emu and JBA upper control arms have a much better track record both with quality of the product and standing behind them if something goes wrong.

As mentioned in the thread I use my Liberty mostly as a soccer dad taxi and Driveway snow plowing occasionally in the winter with the mentioned Meyer driveway plow 240# - 250#.
You can go ahead and say I TOLD YOU SO...
After recent inspection my ball joints boots have tears (ball joints are still good - no play yet). SOOOOO, I'm NOW looking to replace them, most likely with the JBA's (w/ replaceable ball joints) and I suppose while I'm at it I should do the lift kit....! I suppose while I have the front end apart replacing the A arms I should change out the Struts
You had a few recommendations, I believe the OME's 790's, if they're not too heavy duty/stiff - when plow is off. I want to keep a good ride, and get the better height/ look of just a bit of a lift. I have newer 235/70 R16's, so I'm not looking to get bigger tires for quite some time, but would think a bit bigger like Sota has with his Liberty he plows with 245/70 R16's (mentioned in the thread) when I do need tires. I'm looking to do what's right, BUT NOT SPEND UNNECESSARY too much money where I don't have too, keeping it on the cheap.

Since i've been explicitly named...
the only reason I ran the 245/70R16 size while plowing was, I didn't have anything else at the time.
I'm not using 225/75R16 Cooper Discoverer M+S 104S studded tires.

For the amount of lift you are olanning and your use, stock upper arns should ve fibe...

So far so good with my Mevotech Terrain tough upoer control arms. CTXK3198. About 70 bucks on rockauto.
Dunno if its just a marketing ploy or if they are truly stronger than stock style. But I like em. Not a ton of miles on mine yet. But so far so good.

Umm I do , so I guess like going to RRO keep that idea out of my head too. - LoLo_O

If not wanting a lift, see if you can find some NEW stock front springs for a CRD, they are rated at 400 lbs compared to the 310 stock for a gasser. No real lift per se , but hold up more weight

That's the way I was originally thinking but, I now think I would like a lift. As I come across other Liberty's here locally that have been lifted they sure look nice and mine parked next to them looks ,,, well, kind of wimpy. Other than just looks, I'm sure I could benefit from the bit of height getting through the snow and such.

As mentioned earlier in the thread;

You had a few recommendations, I believe the OME's 790's, if they're not too heavy duty/stiff -are they variable rate springs? When plow is off. With that said Tom, what do you suggest for my situation, and what reliable company to get the parts from? What happened to JBA Offroad selling the kits?

Sorry, remember I consider myself still a newbie here to the Jeep and KJ world and look towards people like yourselves with the years of experience and Knowledge to guide me in the right direction ....

I wil warn you, 790s w/o added weight up front all the time will be a bit of a rougher ride.

Just a bit might not be horrible, prob better than using the diesel springs.

I wonder how the next set down from the OME 790s would be for my situation?
And which to match the rears?

So I suppose I'm looking at getting needing:

New UCA's (for Ball joint replacement)
Front springs and struts OME (preferably pre-assembled)
Rear springs OME (to match)
and
Rear shocks

Then an alignment

the OEM diesel springs are weaker than the 790s, FYI.
