Hi everybody,
I have a manual 2.5 crd liberty and have a problem with all the engine oil ending up in the coolant reservoir.
It's not the head gasket as I initially thought. Does anyone know the location of the Oil cooler and the best way to fix this problem.? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome to this site.

Another good site for these old 2.5 Export CRDs is www.ausjeepoffroad.com there are lots of Owners of the Export 2.5/2.8 CRDs there.

Also download the 2002 Jeep KJ Service Manual below as well as the section "2_5 2_8 Export Diesel" which has some unique information.

There is a cooler upfront behind the grill...do not have my 2002 CRD with me at the moment....stands vertically if I remember correctly!

My Jeep got damaged by stupid panelbeaters who drove it without enough water. Head had to be repaired because of oil in the water and the oil cooler upfront was also checked out.

This likewise caused the oil to collect in the plastic reservoir....had to remove it and clean it out with a high pressure cleaner.

So download the manuals, talk to ausjeepoffroad and check the head is definitely OK!

Thanks for the information Billwill.
I'll check the manuals out and hopefully get it sorted.

I've had it for about 5 years now and luckily have only had minor problems with it. Fingers crossed its the cooler.

I'm away with work for a few weeks so won't get a chance to get stuck into it till then.
All the best.
