I was able to get mine done without removing the fan shroud, but it's tight in there. Would definitely be easier with the shroud out, but then how much fun is removing the fan shroud?

Mine just has the electric fan and shroud. Looks like the job would be lots easier with it out.
No more leaks. New thermostat is in. It was actually the hose that was leaking and not the thermostat housing. I put 2 new stainless steel worm style clamps on the thermostat housing side of the lower hose. That should work until I can get an OEM style clamp.
Just curious...would a flex fan be an option for a Liberty? Mine's been driving around the desert all it's life with only the electric fan, and I was wondering maybe a little extra help would be in order in it's old age. I don't like clutch fans much. Maybe I should just leave it alone and save the wear and tear on the water pump. Just thought about it today as I dove in to replace the hoses, thermostat, and housing.
This must be a thing...I just broke off the lower housing bolt too. Drilling it out is gonna be a b@#*#.
could get an electric fan to go on the water pump
Has someone invented that yet???
