2002 KJ Renegade, think knocking wrist pin

Hello, thanks for having this forum. My wife's favorite vehicle of all time is our 2002 Liberty Renegade. Was getting ready to head to Kona ( I live in Pahoa, HI) and heard a knocking sound, about 90% sure it is a wrist pin knock. could be a rod knocking down low, but pretty sure the motor is a ticking time bomb at this point. Has 232k miles on it, changed out the trans 30k a go with a used trans, and the thing is in reasonable shape. Wife wants to keep it going and so do I.

So, I am looking on island and perhaps on Ebay for a new motor, at least the bottom end.
What are the direct swap options and what are the options that are more involved but still work? I know there is a computer change up between years etc. Think I may have found a whole parts liberty 2003 with blown head gasket as well.
