Hey there, nice to meet y'all I'm Allan

So I bought a 03 renegade with 146k miles on it somewhere around november and its safe to say I've fallen in love with it so far. The only issues it has is that my struts seem to be broken because even the smallest bump will make the whole truck shake and it has a rattling sound as I drive. Looking for advice on how to do maintenance and possibly some upgrades to make this jeep look badass like most in this website.

- Allan

get out of the jeep life now, while you're young and still can, and have most of your money.
jeeps are the succubus of the vehicle world. you'll never be happy with what you have, will constantly be broke, and will eventually turn into tommudd. save yourself. warn others. avenge us.

:D

yes don't end up playing/building Jeeps for over 40 years, nothing but empty pockets
Either stay away from Jeeps or women .....or both ! LOL
As far as suspension goes , springs and shocks are done by 60,000-70,000 miles.
Measure in front middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare, bet its down to 17.5-18 if no one has replaced the springs. 19 inches is stock ( new ) height
Need to replace everything springs and shocks all around.
I did my 04 right before it had 20,000 miles !!!

Damn i do like to have money in my pockets. But wouldn't it be nicer to have a lifted jeep with some badass offroad tires?

Lets see........

1) money in your pockets...

2) a lifted jeep with some badass off road tires....

I would go for #2 and you get a smile on your face to boot..

Welcome to the madness...LOL

Well ya know what my answer would be :happy175:
Stay broke !
I mean in 221,000 miles my 04 went through 4 different lift setups , 3 different aftermarket front bumpers, two different rear bumpers , regearing, 7 different tire sizes etc
Now starting on building the 03 and I have an 05 that will get the same treatment after the 03 ..........................................

Sounds like you jeep needs a OME or Ironman lift kit.

And what exactly does that consist of? I know absolutely nothing about this. Its a whole new world to me. Didn't think people loved jeeps as much as i do but you guys seem to love them more. You guys are the experts! shoot me some ideas i got some spare cash right now.

Its replacing all 4 springs and all 4 shocks. Of course most of us lift ours so that is what w suggest. But looking at 725-800 for the 4 springs and shocks. That will give you 2.5 inches of lift over "new" stock height. Much better ride and handling all around. New stock height was 19 inches middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare so will be 21.5 inches. I have my 03 sitting at that height , different more expensive lift but you can see how it would look in this picture.

You can't drive money, son. Would you rather be sitting on a big fat wallet, or on a nice high Jeep that can go anywhere?

I think I'll take that second option. There won't be a bump on the road I can't go over. You're all mad and I love it.
