Rear wiper arm bent

Now that the suspension noise is gone, I can finally look at the other selection of issues the KJ offers me. :happy175:

Rear wiper arm is bent or something (unless that's how they all are). The arc is flat at the top. Been like that for a few years, tried different blades. Think it's possible to bend it back?

Yes. Its pretty flexible.

Yup' pretty soft steel. Had to bend mine a little to get it to wipe properly. Just be sure not to bend it too much or it won't sit in the holder correctly. Took a couple times tweaking it to get it where it should be.

Only took 5-10 minutes of playing with it. That was to free up the pivot joint also. WD-40 and working it back and forth.

Mine feels like sprung steel, bends but snaps back to where it was. Maybe because it's like 15 out side.

Just take the whole thing off and put it in a vice. Possibly somewhere warm haha

I have bent mine a little so the blade would be flatter on the window but not in this cold weather. I have the OEM blade too that I got at the dealer parts counter when I couldn't find a 11" blade anywhere and still had to adjust it a little. At least it wasn't expensive. I hate that back blade and only use it for a couple of wipes once in a while....LOL

Somewhere around here I have the original off of my 04. If ya break yours trying to bend it and need one I maybe able to find it for you. Still has the blade and all , never used .

On the 04 the dealership dropped it off at 7 PM, 8 AM next morning rear wiper was removed

Am I the only one that thinks our rear spray pattern is beyond poorly engineered? Takes 3 swipes of the blade before the fluid gets to the wiper..
So if the window is covered in mud, you smear mud 3 times before it starts cleaning at all..
Probably why the rear window on most every kj has those ground in streaks where the blade runs on the glass.

That being said, I had to bend mine awhile back, but only slightly.. it fit flat on the glass fine, but was having trouble seating into the holder when it was off

Every KJ/ Mini Van etc with rear wiper "almost" has streaks
main reason I will never use them

Right I very rarely use mine, just seems that without mudflaps everything gets kicked up onto that window

I keep the back glass waxed good, ( well back and sides) so not much sticks to it really . Looking to install some longer ( and easily removeable ) mudflaps as well since I don't have the stock , low hanging bumper anymore
