I've never painted the undercarriage on mine, yet it's still relatively rust-free. Lots of undercarriage washing in the winter time works for me.

Yea when i first got mine it wasnt too bad. My inlaws have an 08 dodge nitro and its a rust bucket as far as the under side is concerned. I think as time went on chrysler jeep dodge ram started using cheaper and cheaper steel. I dont wash the undercarriage as good as i would like to in the winter. All i can do in winter are drive thru car washes.

Cool thanks for the info about the lift struts, hadn't even considered a fix but if it's cheap and easy I'll look into it. Thanks.

Well I think I found a job at a prison near Indianapolis, my fiancé is working on her Doctorate at Indiana State University, otherwise I would love to live up in Chicago. And honestly that may be in our future since there are more opportunities there. What field do you work in up there?

Yea its nice. I used to work in an old school hardware store for the same company was better because i could get all diferent bolts lubes wire shackles. Tey closed it and moved me here. Little more money and i have to dress a little nicer. Its called Studio 41/Remodelers Supply/Clark and Barlow. Big company lots of different jobs thats why i asked. I used to work at Enterprise rent a car in Phoenix. It sucked- 50+ hr weeks, work holidays + weekends, most days turned into 11.5 hour days, on your feet all day, customer service bs, phone calls, customer after customer, and the thing I hated most- it was a sales job. Promoted based on if you can sell additional car insurance to people that already have car insurance. Good jobs are hard to come by these days. The job I just got pays significantly less but I'll work less hours, and have a lot more days off and awesome benefits working for the state. And as crazy as it sounds working at a prison, I think I'll actually enjoy it.

Yeah that's the plan to start building up my KJ now. As I said I'm no mechanic so I'll definitely be using info from you all to help me out.

I am 26 and the most i knew was to do brakes. I know a bit more now. Everything is pretty straight forward with these. I am sure you can handle it. If not just ask away before you jump into a project.
