So does it just firm up the shifts or what? I've always though the KJ shifts nicely but sometimes just at the wrong time. Seems easily confused about what gear it wants. My WJ was the same way.

Firms up somewhat but really didn't do as much as I wanted it to. I wanted good firm , bam quick shifts which it didn't do

Tom do you have the install instructions, or is it just on disc? See nothing online.
I don't think it fixes the overall design. Even if slightly firmer shifts are experienced, may be worth it.
According to TransGo:
"Addresses loss of or delay in forward or reverse, because of shrinking gasket in rear of case. Fixes accumulator leaks and stabilizes pressure"
"Allows use of worn underdrive piston with new tough seal. Makes nice clean shifts with great drivabilty and durability"

Sloppy shifts and hesitating back into first and even getting into first may also be improved with kit..??

Were there any TSB regarding any of these issues on the 42RLE?
I remember back in about 2009 after having super sloppy shifts, having it at dealer and they uploaded some new software or instructions into the PCM.
That helped but still occasionally it hesitates until ya step on the gas, off line into 1st.
I think line pressure/solenoid for sure, somethings not right or tight...:happy175:

I wonder if there are updated parts & valve body for it?
