I know some people have talked about it and I thought I saw a thread once but searching has led me no where. Has anyone installed the extra dome light over their passengers seats after doing an EVIC install? How did you attach it to the roof? I was thinking magnets. Any other tips?

Lol, but what if I want to change the bulbs. The bulbs are only replaceable from the back side if I remember right. If I glue it up there I can never remove it. That's why I was thinking magnets. But was wondering how others had done it too.

Just a thought, but a hard-wired LED light would pretty much reduce any maintenance.

I actually thought about switching all the bulbs to LED... except one to provide resistence for the BCM and make sure they don't glow.

Now that is an insightful post! Is it possible for you to post without coming across as a jerk?
What else do you want, its very simple to do, good golly its not brain surgery , little common sense is all it takes. No one needs to hold your hand to install a light in the roof of any vehicle, a light, wires done
How is that coming across as a jerk?
If you have something to say, PM me!:33:

I'm working with that right now. I'm going to order some with built in resistors. The rear one I changed and glows so little I cannot notice it. The front two I purchased were like spotlights while driving.

Once you find bulbs that don't glow send me a PM with a link. Save me the trouble :D

could you glue a magnet to the back of the light housing and let it stick to the metal above?

i will play nice...only because it is in my bookmarks of things to do. have some of the parts. the bulbs are not changed from above, you can drop the lens cover down and it hinges.
the lights can also be had from durangos, grand cherokees, and other mopar vehicles

Just tap into the dome light wiring simple the light is clips to the headliner and yes you will need to make the hole a little. Bigger

But I don't have a light over the rear seat like that... not even a little one to make a "bigger hole". That's why I wondered how other people attached theirs. I can't imagine there are going to be clips just waiting in the roof for me to attach the light to. The only lights I have are the one attached the the EVIC and the one way back by the gate. The one you have right their behind your cross member would be the perfect placement and it looks to me like there is something under the headliner holding it to the roof. Mine has no such thing.

With the correct sized hole cut.... the fixture will clip onto the headliner... not the roof. Hope that helps you out of your quandary :D

Yes indeed that is the info I'm looking for. Sounds a bit scary actually, but I think I'm up for it. I am also still considering magnets, lol.
