ok i just got my kj all ready to go on the beach and don t have money for a fishing rod rack yet ... now the question is if i ride with my poles inside and sticking out the back window will my interior light stay on as if i had my door open or will it eventually turn off ... i know on the dash Glass comes up telling me its open ... i can deal with that but driving with the interior lights on is very annoying ...

I just tried it, and mine stays off when the glass is open.

If for some reason yours stays on, you can always turn off all of the interior lights.

You must be registered for see images attach

usually if you leave your door open for a while the interior lights will go off eventually so they dont drain your battery. If not turn the twist nob as mentioned above.

I can think of two things wrong with your idea.

#1 should you hit a serious bump the glass may shatter
#2 exhaust fumes will flow into the interior

Can't you tie the fishing poles to the roof rack? no roof rack? maybe out a side window. You can troll for hitchhikers that way:p

ive never had issues with either exhaust fumes ( though i have relocated my tail pipe) nor glass movement that made me worry about damage.

Take your finger/key/pointy object and push in latch/catch on rear door where window normally latches into door. the Jeep will think the window is closed so there will be no light or warning. When you want to open it use the key to unlatch the rear window or just open the door and the latch will then release

Yep. It's as simple as that.

Just be sure you open the latching mechanism before closing the glass so you don't risk breaking it.

BTW, I've driven my KJ for miles with the glass up. It's fine. It never hurt a thing.

II've never had a problem with exhaust fumes either. And for some of you that are paranoid, just roll down the front windows.
