Hey there every one. I now have a custom gear ratio/tire size/speed calculator that I have modified for both the NSG 370 and 42RLE. With this, you can enter in a new gear ratio & a tire size and it will tell you how fast you should be going @ XXXX RPM in X gear... A gear ratio is the ratio between the number of teeth on both wheels are fitted. This relationship is expressed mathematically. For example,

Gear no - 1 Group Teeth - 9 Loose Gear - 51 Overall Ratio - 17.40
Gear no - 2 Group Teeth - 12 Loose Gear - 42 Overall Ratio - 10.71
Gear no - 3 Group Teeth - 16 Loose Gear - 39 Overall Ratio - 7.47
Gear no - 4 Group Teeth - 19 Loose Gear - 35 Overall Ratio - 5.65

Gear ratios are used to help define the machine’s performance.

Did you borrow some of Edison's "new math"? In vehicles it's an expression of the relationship between driveshaft and axle rotations. In a 4.88 geared diff, a steeper, or numerically higher gear ratio, the driveshaft rotates 4.88 times for 1 axle rotation. There, simple gearhead math. The steeper (to a point) the better when running fat tires because a taller tire artificially lowers your gear ratio as far as torque applied to pavement is concerned.

Spammer??? Damn, I miss out on all the cool stuff. I should have said that gear ratios in vehicles are calculated with these....
