i just got my bilstein's and will be ordering my OME medium coils within
the next week or two,and tires as soon as lift is installed.

Cant find it now (figures) but i saw a thread saying that after lifting i wont
be able to get fully into proper alignment without also buying JBA's a-arms, is
this true ??

i wasnt planning on getting the A-arms but also dont want to scrub all the
rubber off of a thousand dollar set of new tires because out of alignment by a hair.

If you stick with OME or an OME + lift like the Franky or Rockfather, you can get the alignment within specs with the stock arms. There may or may not be others reasons for changing out the arms, but alignment was no problem on mine.

x2 man. After my lift I had NO problems with alignment using the factory bits. I changed my upper control arms out when the stock UBJs were shot at 74,000 miles. I went with the RRO arms because I like the idea of being able to lube and change the UBJs when the time comes.

I recall Tommud answered this question a while ago - he'd put (I think) about 70k miles on his KJ lifted with stock arms without a problem.

great, thats what i wanna hear, i will most likely do the same, when UBJ's go, then i will just buy the arms, but right now i dont have the budget for more than just the lift and tires.

Hey, just curious. How did the intermediate shaft fix go?

ya, went alright, i only had to do the disassembly. was at the dealer ordering a bolt for the clevis and happened to see the service manager, mentioned to him what happened and he covered it under warranty.
funny, two weeks before he said cv's were not covered while i was on a road test with him.
but he said after that because the stub shaft was the cause of all the problems they did cover it. been back there twice since, was also getting a vibe from front driveshaft, they replaced,$100 Ded., ant then water pump went, $100 Ded.

Just make sure you DO get an alignment ASAP after putting the lift in. Sage advice.

actually it will continue to sag into position for about 2 weeks so if you want a perfect alignment do it then. or do it right away and deal with a lil sag later

If you wait for some time you can kiss your front tires good bye, plus the extreme camber and toe will make it real unsafe to drive.

ya its kinda hard to weigh this one. in most cases you do it right away and you call it a day. if your a perfectionist (and possibly have access to an alignment rack:cool:) then you would align it right away and then align it agin in a couple weeks or a month after everything is settled. but i agree dont drive it all around the highway or anything much just enough to get the lift to get adjusted some

You should have your vehicle(any vehicle) aligned at least once a year anyways.Heck 99% of all brand new vehicles are not correctly aligned when you drive off the dealership lot.I've done a few brand new vehicle alignments where the customer litterly drove from the dealership to our shop and got a lifetime alignment package and I was very amazed that everytime they where out and not a little either.

DITO tjkj I rotate the tires and do a front end alignment every spring and every fall always a little or a lot off. Not to mention I get great tire life.

Exactly what I was thinking. If you plan to keep the vehicle for any long period of time, lifetime alignments are the way to go! (biggthumpup)

Yeah and don't freak out if they can not get the caster back into adjustment,as long as it is at least 2-3 degrees and within .3 degrees from side to side you are perfectly fine, will not wear the tires at all.Camber and toe are the big issues.

Even if you have nowhere near you that does lifetime alignment, I'd still do one ASAP after the lift and one 4-6 weeks later. I did that and both times I was waaay out of alignment. After the second one they were looking at me like "what did you do???"
