whine at full lock

hi ive recently bought a 02 sport 2.4 petrol and there is a loudish whine only when i use full lock ive been told its normal but i thought id just check, sorry if this is a repost

You have the wheel cut to far, keep it up and you'll burn the pump up, no need to cut that far and hold it

As Tom said dont hold it in full lock for any period of time.
You can quieten down the pump by using this synthetic universal 32 oz Lugegard product.

I use it on the KJ and no stiff steering when cold, and dead quiet now.
Suction out the PS reservoir and add to line the Lubegard..works great.

The whine is a pressure relief valve opening and shutting very fast. at lock, it still trys to send fluid through the system, but it can't because nothing will go further, so it cracks the valve open and your fluid returns to the resevoir. good way to foam your fluid, over heat it etc... occasional usage at full lock is okay, but don't make any kind of a habit of it
