Just check my engine light codes with an OBD2 scanner. And I have 3 transmission codes!

P0884, P0891, P0706

Trans relay circuit, bad trans range, power up at speed.... ( PS my front drive shaft is removed and has been before these codes appeared)

Whats going on here? Did I over fill the transmission? Would this cause these codes?

Seems to shift just fine....

UPDATE :
Ok So I cleared the codes, drove 70+ miles home and they have not appeared back.

You did use specially ATF+4 Transmission fluid correct..tell me you did!
BTW all those codes are listed under the Diesel KJ only. You have a gas KJ Right? ahhh..what up there?
If you cleared the codes and they dont come back..it may be because yesterday was Halloween and your dash lights were visited...LOL..

I used regular ATF. I added two quarts of it to the ****** because it was low.

I dunno why thats coming up as a diesel KJ ??? Lost there as well. Maybe I have a Diesel ECU?

Also my front drive shaft is removed completely

If you used regular ATF...Unfortunately you added 2- 2.5 quarts of the wrong transmission fluid. Now what?
If it were my Jeep I would have the dealer service the transmission now.
The dealer for a reasonable fee $150? Will use their exchange machine and remove all the 12 quarts of old fluid out of the system, install new filter and ATF+4.
This is good normal maintenance anyways and the best course of action to take.

After 20 minutes searching the FSM there is not a complete listing of codes?? Help!
Ahhh..I guess I have also been relying on the KJC codes list.
Hang in there...hopefully someones got some input into this...chances are the two sets of codes do cross over.

I suppose you have cleared the codes now but if light was to come on again...
What scanner did you use? Does the key trick work on your 02?
Still you could also Try without starting the Jeep...
Key quickly... On-Off-On-OFF-ON (leave in On position) and see if any codes show in the digital odometer...it will say done if it does work after displaying codes.

Thanks, With the codes cleared the only thing possibly left may be pending codes.
The Dealer star scan tool may still be able to read previously set codes though.

What scanner was used for those codes anyways?
While you are at the dealer having the Trans service done they will hook up into OBD2 port for a re-learn (new fluid) set. Hopefully then no more codes will appear.
You could tell them you had these codes show up & ask them if they have more specific details about them..??

Ill check into the dealer on the codes I suppose. I used an OBD2 scan tool from advanced auto.

Not sure what the 0884 code is but the others look like something elctrical. Probably have a wire thar is corroded out. Had a minivan with same code recently and it had a bad pin at the back of the fuse box for the trans power. Pull the connectors and look for any discollored pins that might be getting hot from a loose connection. Maybe get lucky and wire will break in your hand so you find it

Low fluid can cause one of those codes and the others sound like a $800+ fix(just for parts).

Adding the wrong ATF will reduce the ability of the correct ATF to make the trans function. You may experience slipping in the near future.

Where are these possible bad connections at on the transmission? Wire harness? Where exactly should I be looking for corroded / broken wires? Pictures?

Someone has recommended a trans cooler on the jeep and also stating that it is very common in the libertys for the trans fluid to leak into the transfer case and in some cases the cooling system

Check your fluid level. If ok its electrical. Check the trans control relay in the power dist center. Make sure you are getting power there. Check the connections going to the pdc and look for any corroded terminals.
may not be a connector but it should be a black/white wire(relay 85)for ground and pink(relay 86) going to tcm for the control of relay.
fuse 5-30amp supplies the relay. Red/white. That should have power on the relay cavity 30 and relay pin 87 should be red. That red wire supplies power to the tcm and trans solinoid assembly.
at the trans solinoid it should be the red wire at pin 10. Should have continuity from relay pin 87 to solinoid pin 10.
There should also be an inline connector inbetween somewhere. C105. Trace the wiring but it should be a grey 14 pin connector in engine bay. Looks like pin 6 is red wire and pin 8 should be the pink relay control circuit.

Hope that helps. Look for corroded pins. Pull on wires. Its easier to find when its out completly.

ok thx for this. A few questions if I may.

where is the pdc and the solenoid module? This is all external to the transmission correct? How accessable are all of these terminals and wires ? Where should I start?

The solinoid assembly will be in the trans. Bigest connector on the drivers side of trans. Pdc=fuse box in front of battery. Couple retainer clips hold pdc in. Should be able to flip it around to get to back side to check wires. May have a shield on the back you will have to pop off.
Trans solinoid connector will be fun. Driveshaft runs right along trans. Check wires and relay first in pdc. Ive seen most electrical problems on the back side of the pdc
