Threads here seem to say we can get away with 245/70-16's on stock wheels/suspension.

Does anyone know of the TALLEST (not widest) tires we can get away with? Our KJ is 4x4, '04 with factory alloys, came with Wranglers 235/70-16's.

Thanks!

Pretty much the 245/70R16 size... I haven't heard of anyone trying much of anything else. Anything much bigger and the rub process starts. Some (read: 1) have reported rubbing even with that size.

245/70R16 is the MAX you can run on stock suspension. If you get some rubbing you can do a clevis lift and/or some trimming and pound the pinch weld.
