Is my torque converter going out? It seems to be getting harder and harder to start out. After a little use it seems to warm up a run right.

Are there any positive tests to determine if that's the issue?

Cold. Sitting and cold it shows at 98 cc or cm I don't know, same as 3 5/8 inches. Which has always been where it was. It does still run. Just starts out hard,

Do you mean it takes a while to get drive on startup?

Put it in gear and start to accelerate, it seems to hesitate a bit before taking off.

Also check trans fluid running with oil dipstick. Comes up in the cross hatch marks.

This model has hill start assist. I'm wondering if that is malfunctioning and kicking in. It is supposed to be in the off position according to the computer,

Bit of wear I'd guess low hydraulic pressure. I'm afraid it's going to need proper gear to diagnose it, I'd get it done soon before you wipe the clutches out, they don't like slipping.

I can get under it and going with getting it out.

But first, I want to know about a new/different one, I like the junkyard prices on them but how do I know I have a good one or not.

And, if that's really the issue.

Before you get too deep into it take it to a transmission shop and get them to look at it, there are test ports in the body they can check the pressures on to see what's happening, it may be a valve block issue.
