I just had to put my spare on my KJ and the stupid tire warning light and chime keeps coming on. I checked the pressure on all 4 tires and it's good. Does it monitor the spare mount as well? The flat is on the back rack until I can get it pluged.

yup, that's correct. I recently did a 5-tire rotation, and got no complaints from the TPM (but I have seen it complain about low pressure when I was aired down before)

Yes, the TPM does monitor all 5 tires (what good is a spare if it doesnt have enough air?). If you have a flat on the back, the tire pressure light will come on.
I can confirm that it was monitoring the spare.... I plugged it and filled it back up, no more warning light. Modern technology amazes me... I've been living in Japan for 10 years, driving 15 year old cars.....
