I use the ValvoMax oil drain plug on all my vehicles… same "easy oil drain" concept, but it comes with a hose attachment that both opens the spring loaded ball bearing valve and directs the hot oil flow exactly where you want it, even directly into a narrow mouth container. Not only does the ball bearing valve have a larger opening then the Fumoto valve, when using the supplied compression washer, it also doesn't thread in up past the interior of the oil pan bung so it drains the oil pan more fully. It also has a low profile design and is very well machined and manufactured domestically completely from stainless steel and includes a threaded cap for added rough off roading security.

This is the one on my Dodge truck.

Fram used to market something very similar. I had one for my minivan and loved it. But soon after they discontinued them, reportedly because they would get hit by something as minor as stones from a gravel road and would dump out all of the oil. I'm a bit skeptical of them ever since.

Not at all sure about the discontinued Fram one, and some people have claimed that the early Fumotos can open up by getting snagged on a rock, but IMHO this ValvoMax is very well designed and machined.

As you can see on the Dodge, it is located above the axle…if something shears it off, Ive likely got bigger problems.
