Starting problems

I put an 05 motor in an 03 liberty. I changed out the ring on the crank shaft and the gear on the cam. The old motor would run when I took it out and the gas pump worked. Now it appears the engine is not getting fire and the gas pump is not getting power. I can jump across the relay in the fuse box under the hood and get the pump to work. When I hook a code reader to the connection under the dash I get a check DLC connection. Not sure what that is. Can anyone help with these problems? Thanks for all responses in advance.

The DLC is the OBDII port. Diagnostic Link Connector.

I'm not much help beyond that.

Are the connections to the PCM tight and clean?

Could be ASD relay too but the DLC thing is weird.
