So, after driving all the way into work (40+ minute drive normally, today on the way in it took about 55 min), and then finding out my manager had texted me and told me I didn't need to come in if I didn't want to...I worked my shift and then headed out into the wild white yonder! The only time I actually slid anywhere was coming around the corner of the parking lot and into the main driveway. I was in 4Hi and completely pulled a 180, though I'm really not sure how...then the roads were even MORE fun, and it took me an hour and a half to get home

I even wound up using the light bar on the road because I couldn't see jack squat...but even they didn't seem to be doing much. And then...I pulled into the driveway, saw my dad's Jetta stuck at the top of the driveway after he'd just gotten home from a 5 hour drive from Massachusetts, and I drove across the lawn through 7 inches of snow and into the garage without a hitch.

It was one of those little moments of win that just make you smile.

And then I realized why my light bar seemed dim.

I am glad you had a great snow experience.
I see that the lights were somewhat "Limited" Hopefully Your traction is not.
The Kj can be a great vehicle in snow as long as you have the safe winter or AT tires on.
I get very concerned when I see many in winter conditions with the wrong tires on their Jeeps. Safety Makes Sense.
I just shake my head every time I see all season radials in snow conditions.

Last Year we had 6 feet of snow over 12 storms and my Kj was awesome stopping on steep grade in 2 feet, was not a challenge with the Wrangler Silent Armor Kevlar tires.
Keeping your speed safe and longer stopping distance is imperative in winter conditions.
What kind of tires do you have on your KJ?

At least you've got a garage to keep most of the froozen rain off your KJ! I can't imagine what Friday morning will look like for your area after the 12+ inches of snow fall (again)...

Wow... Glad its you guys this time and not me here again.... LOL... We got enough.

Surprised those lightbar lights dont get warm enough to stay melted off, they are 55w Hella bulbs. My Hella 500FF's melt the snow as fast as it can hit them.

I've got BFG Radial Long Trail T/A tires on it...I don't know much about them but I know they've served me well since I bought the KJ, but they're gonna have to be replaced before next winter I'm sure. Gonna save and get some that are a little bit bigger than these ones hopefully...I like the look of big tires but I'm not sure if I want to throw a lift on it or not so that's gonna limit my choices lol!

As for going slow, yes, I was going 25mph in a 55 the whole way home, except on one of the main highways that was pretty clear compared to the other roads, I was going about 40mph there. People were still passing me in their big 4wd Rams and crap but hey, I'll let them skid around as much as they want as long as they don't take me out along the way!

Those people that make fun of people for driving slow in the snow amaze me. Idk what makes them think that they are so good at driving in snow that they can drive the speed limit on snow covered roads. I dont really worry too much about me doing anything stupid in the snow, its the people around me thinking they are awesome and can drive as fast as they want that worries me.

People forget that a 4x4 may be able to take off fast, but it doesn't stop any better - usually worse since they are heavier!

True that. Just ask the dude who's 4x4 Ram 1500 on dubs and Wrangler HPs ended up in the ditch on the inside of a curve after he passed me. I stopped to see if he was OK. Not much snow or ice or real steep for that matter. I drove in the ditch to get to him and then drove out again. All he did was sit and spin. I offered to winch him out but he was already on the phone with a "buddy".

And again, lucky you. All we've had is cold, not much snow to speak of.

Down here by the second snow(stuff melts)most are brave, they can't drive on a good day, then they have to prove it on a nasty one. (rotflmao)
