A problem has just developed with my UK spec 2005 Cherokee KJ 2.8CRD auto. Until now the gear changes have always been very smooth. Now its as though the brakes are briefly applied in the middle of each change, resulting in a bang through the transmission when the gear kicks in. At times it can be quite a bang from the diff.
Once warmed up it almost disappears but not entirely.
Any ideas anyone? The gearbox oil level looks fine but the new oil and filters I bought for it are still sitting in the garage, Could old oil be the culprit?
