I had a guy help me out with this before, but I couldn't find what I was looking for.

I need some detailed help on running wire thru the firewall for some accesories I am installing on the grille and bumper.

Anybody who can help me on what I need to do, and where I need to run my wires thru with out drilling thru my firewall, I'd appreciate it.

Theres a hole in teh firewall with a rubber grommet on it. It's on the drivers side. The hole for the firewall is lower in the engine compartment than I'd imagined and higher in the interior than I'd expected. I was able to fairly easily get a small (~18ga) wire thru it by jamming a coat hanger thru from the inside. A bit of tape on the wire, pulled it right thru, no problems. It was actually pretty straightforward.

Do a search and see if you can find the foglight pdf file somewhere, if not maybe I can dig it up for you. It has some pretty pictures that might help clarify.

I am sorry, I should have been more specific.

I have an 4 X 2, 2004 Jeep Libby, with manual transmission, and 3.7L motor.

I looked for the foglight .pdf and couldn't find it. If you could tell me more specifically about the grommett or the pdf file, I'd be obliged.

Southeast of disorder...
I did a write up on the LOST board about this. There is a small plug that you can pull to reveal a factory penetration in the fiewall:

It takes about ten minutes to find and remove the plug. Let me know if you need any help with finding it or better pictures. My mother has an '05 Sport which I looked at - the plug is in the same location on it, so this should work for anything from '02 to '05.

BluPhant,
I appreciate the information.

Corwyyn,
If memory serves me correctly, you were the one that I mentioned in my first post, that had originally helped me out, but I couldn't remember where from. So I ended up posting here. If this is the case, I appreciate you stepping up to help me out again.

I have looked hi/low for this plug and can't find it. Even with the pictures. Is this plug located on the firewall, close to the wiring harness? Do I need to remove the battery to give myself more room? How exactly can I find this plug? Unfortunately space is tight in the motor compartment.

Additional help would be greatly appreciated.

Corwyyn,

You are the man. That is exactly what I needed. Thanks!!!!

Now when I get my Libby out of the shop next week, I can start working on running my siren wires, and re-routing my grille light wires.

Appreciate all the help from BluPhant and everybody else. That description on that plug would probably go good in the "How-To" Section.

Corwynn & others. Finally got around to completing this work this morning. After all the hints of where to locate the plug, I got it finished.

I appreciate everybody's help, especially Corwynn for his detailed description for this. =D> =D>
