The more lights I add and the more gadgets I setup = more power drain.

Does this mean I should look for a bigger battery or bigger alternator?

You need a bigger alternator to run the lights and stuff. All the battery does is act as a storage unit(for starting and powering stuff when engine shut off) and a source or reserve power is the alternater is not keeping up.

Heres a place to check out...... www.h-o-alternators.com/alternators.htm

Great thanks for the link.

Can anyone let me know what the power rating for the stock alternators are? I heard they were pretty heavy duty?

160 Amp-for renegade, all other 135 amp.. No idea on the CRD though.

Look at the green machine alternators. I know they make a nice unit.

Right now I am still using stock alternator, but have a yellow top optima (for running the stereo with the Jeep off). Battery's just provide storage capacity not extra power.

Today for the 1st time ever my battery indicator lit up, no idea why, but then shut off really quick... weird.

plug

I plug it in the power port...If you are going to use the lighter plug it has to be the kind that is active without the key on.
