****** problems

Hello everyone, about a month ago I was towing my 2500lb pop up camper with my 2008 liberty and my ****** overheat light came on, I let the engine cool and the light went off but the engine light came on but went off after a few driving cycles, fearing I caused ****** damage I took it to the dealer and had it checked and the fluid changed dealer said no damage. This past weekend I had the same problem and ****** would'nt shift and engine was running around 5000rpm wouldn't shift until I shut off vehicle and let ****** cool. Any ideas what would cause this? Thanks

One question - Did your Liberty come from the factory equiped for towing?

It's not equiped for towing but it is rated for 3500lbs towing
