I am replacing a power steering pump for my gfs brother and I have run into a problem. I guess the pump got so hot it melted some plastic plug that is behind the pump. I cannot for the life of me find the name of this part or a part number, so if anyone knows what this piece is called please let me know. I can't finish the job until I get the part because I can't reuse it.

Located on the block right behind the power steering pump

That is the access plug for the timing chains.

You can find one at a junk yard from any Chrysler vehicle that has a 3.7 or 4.7 liter engine. It is normally removed by pushing it our from the inside of the head - but if it's 'melted' then you can just pry it out with a screwdriver or something. The one you get off another engine will need to be pushed out from the inside by taking off the valve cover and reaching down past the timing chain and giving it a shove.

The replacement should be flush to the head like this:

Ok thanks I already removed it with a screwdriver the other day. I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to buy a new one. What do I tell them I need? An access plug?

And how did this happen? Why did it get so hot that it melted that? And the reservoir also had holes in it from the fluid getting too hot.

Yep, it's called the cylinder head access plug - I'm pretty sure they are the same size on both heads.
