If you are going thru pads that fast, sounds like you may have a caliper problem. I had a car once that ate pads so fast, that I just changed them every 5k when I changed oil. I was using good pads, and had replaced rotors too. Nothing looked to be wrong with the calipers. But I finally broke down and bought new front calipers. The next set of pads had 25k miles on them when I sold the car. You might try it and see.

I don't think there is a problem with the calipers, they would be getting very hot if there was a problem, my wife's taxi driver style of drivig probably doesn't help. Also you would have to see it to believe it, but the number of speed bumps in Mexico City is incredible.
