P1698 Obd

Has anyone had this code come up on there liberty? It says:1698 No messages received from the electronic transmission control module or the Aisin transmission controller. I put the jeep in the shop but they have checked everything. Let me know if someone has ever had this problem befor, it happened shorty after an oil change

We seem to have found the problem. Turns out that in the middle of the wiring harness going from the PCM to the TCM the main power wire had a nick in it. There was no evidence of exterior damage so I am sure the problem happened at the mexican wiring plant. Thank goodness we buy a vechicle for a fortune full of faulty cheap import wiring harnesses. There was 350 dollars labor to find this 9 dollar wire. The dealership wanted to take apart the ****** and rebuild it bit by bit and charge us up to 2000 dollars plus 150 to try to determine the proble. There machine would have not found it. We took it to a local transmission king who is the fairest around, he also gave us a loner until the jeep was fixed for free. I have never seen a vechicle with such low kilometers have so many problems and i would not recomend anyone buying one of the liberty's unless its dirt cheap. My truck is an 89 with 100 000 more km on it and i have not had any problems with it.
