Hey all.

My '03 Libby has been throwing the P0132 code intermittently - didn't notice any changes in driveability until this weekend. Went through a carwash and as I was pulling out the idle was very rough - then when I accelerated out of the parking lot it was low on horsepower/sluggish.

Drove for a couple of minutes and then the CEL came on and I did the "turn-the-key-three-times" trick to get the code. But then 10 minutes later while driving around town the CEL went off and the Jeep ran fine again - purred like a cat...

Question: Should I look for something besides the O2 sensor as the fault - like vacuum hoses, Mass Airflow Sensor issues, etc? Since it's intermittent should I just wait until the CEL stays on continuously then start poking around?

Your thoughts are anticipated! :smokin:

That's the code for bank 1 sensor 1. That would be on the drivers side before the cat. Something could have got wet from the car wash if the code went out maybe. You could check the wires that go to the sensor as said. See if the light comes back on.

(there's 4 02 sensors, 1 before each cat and 1 after each cat)

My 04 KJ with 96K miles does the same thing. After getting wet from underneath (heavy rain, slushy snow mostly) I'd trip the same code. Once it dries out the code goes away and check engine light turns off until the next time. I wrapped the O2 harness in a waterproof plastic wrap and the code only trips if I vigorously splash through deeper puddles. Mine doesn't drive poorly though when the code trips and I'm convinced it's a water issue.

Thanks guys.

I'll be rolling under the Libby this weekend to change the oil so I'll check the wiring to the O2 sensor at the same time. Up to now I haven't paid any attention to the sensors - just the more 'sexy' stuff under the Jeep. Maybe the sensors are feeling left out and just want their 15 minutes of attention... :killit:

I'll keep you posted!
