Hi,

I recently had an incident where the check oil light came on. I was in a parking spot reversing out slowly when it came on. The road was flat.

After letting the oil settle back in the pan, I checked the oil and the level was fine. The light went off afterwards and I continued on assuming it was a sensor issue.

The light hasn't been back on since.

I'm am thinking of changing the oil pressure switch just to be safe.

Is the part number 4868672AA?

Any thoughts or comments?
I didn't find anything on the forum.
Thanks.

That's about when mine went (mileage wise). Mine was leaking too. I went aftermarket and wound up getting one designed for a gauge. Kept throwing the light at 2k RPMs so went to the dealer shortly after and got the correct one. Mines an 02 and has a different part number but the one you mentioned appears correct (for a switch). Not terrible to change if you remove the oil filter. I'm sure there are other ways from the front.

My ancient laptop can't play that but really just unplug connector, find appropriate socket, contort, remove and reverse the process. A bit tight in there but if I could do it (twice!) I'm sure you can too.

cool.
Any particular torque setting during installation?
The factory service manual doesn't mention anything.

Thanks.

If I remember correctly they come with a thread sealant applied so "snug" is sufficient. I also couldn't find a torque. I seem to remember the wire harness being rather tight so I tried to get the orientation similar to the one I removed. Three or four years now and no leaks so snug will be sufficient.

I have a line from the power steering that is in the way.
I can get the socket on but there is no room now for the extension.
Anyone else run into this?

Well I had about run out of ideas until I thought why not give the six sided socket a try...
Once I did that it fit on there further and I had enough room.
The inside of the 12 isn't any different than the 6, and once I got the old one out they fit in there the same so... yeah... whatever I got it changed out.

Scored a refund of the price difference from avondalewholesaleparts.com .
I told Josh of the discrepancy of their online catalog showing the wrong superseded part number and price.

Definitely recommend them for your mopar parts!
Free shipping too!
