Hi everyone. Just got this KJ and am working through all the bits to restore it to its former glory. Never had a diesel before so that aspect is pretty new.

Anyway...can any give me a starter for ten on what to start checking on this oil leak? Anyone experienced this situation before? It's dripping off the oil filter but the filter tight.

Thanks

Check the oil pressure sending unit, this is a pretty common issue with KJs. It's located right above the oil filter, but you can't really see it because of its location.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is it a case of replacing the unit or does it have a seal only replacement? :)

The whole unit has to be replaced. Go with Mopar only, other brands often will cause issues and trigger the oil pressure warning light.

The part number is 5149097AA, should be around 25 bucks.
