I would like to get a set of wheels with the backspacing that will set it out compared to the factory wheels. I am thinking of some soft 8s or something similar. If I stay with stock size tires will this cause any rubbing issues?

offset of factory wheels is ~42mm or 5.5 inches of backspacing on a 7 inch wide 16 inch wheel.

If you go numerically less offset or less backspacing it will push the wheels into the front air dam when you turn your wheels. ie turn steering wheel to 3 or 9 o'clock position, check where tires would rub to the front. Then imagine it moved your change in backspacing forward.

Unless your lifted your better off leaving well enough alone. Even at stocksizes, the wheel openings are not that forgiving with less backspacing.

If you are lifted, most choose 16x7 with 4 inch BS and are available in soft 8's.
