Hi everyone…

First of all happy holydays!!! O:)

This noise is coming from the bottom of my ‘02 Jeep Liberty. I hear this noise while I am driving only. It sounds like two pieces of metal are hitting one another. Everything is tied up and in its place so is not like there is something loose.
Could it be that I need new shocks?
Help please!!!!

Welcome to the board.
I think you'll need to give some more information, you have an 02. Do you have skids? Could one of them be loose and rattling?
One way to test the shocks, is to push up and down on the hood, not enough to bend anything, and get a goo motion going, then let go, if i stops right away, your shocks are fine, if it keeps moving up and down, new shocks.
I did have a strut go once, and had no lose of control, but the tire started thumping, anything like that?
You said everything looks in place, from where is the sound coming from? Front, rear, side?

you might also want to check your sway bar bushings.
they have a tendancy to dry out and squeak and/or knock
especially in colder weather
